Hello everyone,
P4 org is planning to participate in Google Summer of Code (GSoC) again this year. An important part of our application is identifying mentors from the community, so we’re reaching out to find volunteer mentors interested in proposing project ideas for the P4 GSoC 2026 program. Our goal is to prepare a solid list of project ideas ahead of the organization application deadline on February 3.
GSoC is a great way to support and strengthen the P4 open-source community, and it is a very rewarding experience.
Mentor qualifications:

Have prior experience working on any P4 related projects.

Are passionate about mentoring a potential new contributor to the P4 open source community.

Can commit to mentor responsibilities during the GSoC 2026 period.
Next steps if you are interested:

Ping one of the P4 GSoC 2026 organization team members (see below) on P4 Zulip to add you to the mentor channel.

We’ll work together on preparing the initial project ideas list for our org application.

Wait until Feb 19 to see if P4 org is selected for GSoC 2026.

If we are selected, we’ll continue to prepare for the next phase together.
