Hello all,

Just wanted to let you know about an event happening in 16-17 October 2023 in in Castelldefels, Barcelona, Spain.

ETSI’s Centre for Testing and Interoperability and the TeraFlowSDN community are organizing the 3rd TFS Hackfest on 16-17 October 2023 Followed by the TFS#3 Ecosystem Day on 18 October. The events will be hosted by CTTC in their premises in Castelldefels, Barcelona, Spain, and co-located with the TFS#3 Plenary on 17 October 2023 (login required)

Participation in ETSI Hackfests & Ecosytem Day is free and open to all upon registration.

This Hackfest will be dedicated to the use of P4 in TeraFlowSDN, starting with an overview of TeraFlowSDN and white box management with P4, followed by a gradual walkthrough of an end-to-end P4 based demo, then more interactive sessions led by key members of the TeraFlowSDN community. Participants will be able to build their own hands on experience of P4 forwarding with TeraFlowSDN, including aspects such as deployment, configuration, operation, monitoring, update, etc…

The (preliminary) agenda and more information can be found here: TFS HACKFEST 3

You are all invited to participate!

@kesnar, would be nice to make a presentation to the P4 Applications Working Group as well (Working Groups « P4 – Language Consortium)

Unfortunately, there have not been any meetings of the P4 Applications Working Group for some time now (the P4 Technical Steering Team has been looking for a new technical focus for that work group, after its former one of Inband Network Telemetry has come to a conclusion, but have not found the combination of focus area and co-chairs that have come to fruition yet).

If someone would like to give any kind of P4-related talk that has at least a significant component in open source software, there is an ongoing series of meetings occurring every 2 weeks called “P4.org Open Source Developer Days” where we welcome such presentations. See Working Groups « P4 – Language Consortium for details of those and all other P4.org meetings, and feel free to send a message to me privately, or publicly to the p4-dev email list, if you have any topics you would be interested in presenting there.

Hello All,

Sending a (maybe a little late) reminder about this Hackfest!
The final agenda can be found here: TFS-HACKFEST-3

Basically we will begin with a tutorial on how to deploy TeraflowSDN controller and run a simple experiment with (software) p4 switches.
Then we will have a hands-on session related mainly around how we can build programs that interact with the TeraflowSDN controller.
Finally we will see some stuff more closely related to P4, showing some preliminary stuff on Inband Network Telemetry (INT) and check a bit the TeraflowSDN P4 service handler.

Unfortunately the hackfest will be only physical, but if anyone is in the general area, they are more than welcome!

(about the working groups mentioned, I was a little overwhelmed the previous period, but the following period, we plan to participate!)
